PenScholar provides coaching, editing, feedback, and research guidance on work that belongs to the client. This policy states plainly what that means in practice.
What we do
- Help you plan structure and strengthen your own argument
- Refine language, grammar, and academic tone in writing that is substantively yours
- Coach you through methodology, literature review, and research design decisions
- Prepare documents for submission or publication once the underlying work is complete
What we don’t do
- Write assignments, theses, or papers for submission as a client’s own unaided original work
- Complete take-home exams or assessments designed to be completed independently
- Encourage or assist with the misrepresentation of authorship to an institution or publisher
Your responsibility
Every client is responsible for complying with their own institution’s academic integrity policy. Where a school, university, or publisher requires disclosure of external editing or coaching assistance, that disclosure is the client’s responsibility, not ours. If you’re unsure what your institution allows, check with them directly before starting a project with us.
Why we hold this line
Coaching and editing that respects your own voice and reasoning produces better long-term outcomes, both academically and professionally, than work that isn’t genuinely yours. It’s also the only way we’re willing to operate as a business. See our full Terms of Service for related delivery and confidentiality terms.
